Even if you have only been in business a short time you will have worked out that ALL CUSTOMERS ARE NOT EQUAL!
Certainly not in weddings…there are those brides who want to dot every I and cross every T 100 times, there are those who are so unassuming they say nothing then cry and there are a few who just don’t take advice. Fortunately there are not too many of any of these and mostly we have great customers, so all is well.
However when I refer to not being equal today what I am actually think about is more than that…
You see your best customers will buy more, buy more often, buy faster, give you less hassle and let’s be honest often are nicer people.
If it were possible to have all of our customers like this then we would be very happy, and likely very wealthy.
So why don’t we target these people? I would like to suggest that you should! You should target them constantly and relentlessly, moving them from not knowing you and your business through to building a relationship with you so that they wouldn’t do business with anyone else in your sector.
Here is a 5 step plan to make this possible:
#1 Identify Your Dream List:
Not just the companies you’d like to work with, but the people within those companies that are your ideal customer.
#2 Follow them on social media:
Befriend them, follow them, comment on their posts, be constructive and positive – don’t talk about you, talk about them…
#3 Offer them something of value:
Send them something – something that they will appreciate, enjoy, remember and most importantly will make them curious about you.
#4 Plan how you will work on them:
Avoid being irritation or a stalker! But make sure that you pop up where they are so they become aware of you – ensuring that’s a positive thing! Plan a careful sequence to follow up what you sent in #3.
#5 Track and Measure
Keep a close eye on your results. Work on your dream list in small sections, see what works and adapt based on your results.
And most of all remember – people like doing business with friends – so be friendly. 😃
