Over the last few weeks I have critiqued a number of different marketing assets for my clients, including websites, leaflets and direct mail.

There are always lots of things to look for  – the usual make sure it’s not bland, make sure it is personable etc etc… but one of the areas that I have noticed missing most of all is the Call to Action, CTA!

The key role of the CTA is to get your customer to respond immediately – to do something. And for that reason it needs to be crystal clear on your marketing – maybe a button, or a box around it, nearly always with an exclamation mark at the end of it.

Let’s be honest, the more people that respond to your call to action, whether to book an appointment or even just a quote, the more likely it is that  it will ultimately result in a sale so it is definitely worth getting this right!

So what is a Call to Action?

It’s the phrase which on your marketing material tells your customer what to do next. Often on our websites it might be ‘Call now’ or “Get a quote’ but the truth is that actually a lot of the time, business owners forget to include one on their marketing.

So to give you a leg up here are a few to start you off that you could include:

  • Join now!Check availability
  • Book a callback
  • Get a Quote!
  • Learn more
  • Sign up now!
  • Phone us today!

And remember these can be used on any of your marketing material:

  • Website
  • Leaflets
  • Brochures
  • Google & Facebook Ads
  • Quotes
  • Newsletters
  • Referral cards
  • LinkedIn profile
  • Google My Business
  • Bombbomb videos

So my advice for this week is that you go through your marketing assets – all of them and double check that they have a CTA in place. If not pick some out of the list and get them added in.
