Who would have thought that the government’s roadmap for coming out of this lockdown would actually be harder than being in lockdown itself? We didn’t like it did we – stuck in the house with no pub, no friends to see and no work. Then the sun came out, we all discovered zoom, we started making cocktails on a mid-week afternoon and realised that actually we quite like our family… Does t hat sound like you ‘cos it’s definitely me!

And then Boris said we can start to work again – we cam reopen our businesses. And as business owners we are all pleased and happy… except some of our staff are scared… some of our customers are too. Suddenly we night have to open but have fewer customers, and then we have to spend on PPE and do risk assessments. And let’s be honest that’s all pretty scary for us.

These fears are real. The sad news and social media is full of statistics that  we can’t argue with. People are dying, fact. And that wonderful freedom where we thought life would get back to normal just seems like a lifetime away.

And for some business owners what we will want to do now is recoil, stay at home, try to keep busy and just do enough to keep the business going. But is that enough? Definitely not. Fears need to be overcome or growth or for many lockdown RE-Growth can’t happen. So it is time to face out fears and get planning. We need to work out how we are going to regain out customers, motivate our staff and get out business back to where it was and even beyond. Now is the time for action, beginning with a good solid plan.
